How are Monograms vacations different from Globus?Monograms are non-escorted independent vacations. While you purchase hotel, sightseeing, breakfast and transfers as a package, you will not be traveling with a group of people. Rather than a Tour Director, you will have access to a Local Host in Europe, Asia and South American and 24X7 customer representative in North America to help you make the most of your vacation. They can give you information on how to navigate local transportation, where to dine to experience local cuisine, or insider tips on what to do, but they will not be accompanying you as you explore on your own. You do have the opportunity to purchase optional excursions from your Local Host, in which case you will travel via motorcoach and be in the company of a group for the duration of the excursion.Are transfers included?Airport transfers are not included in a Monograms vacation and can be purchased separately. However, a Monograms vacation including two or more cities does include station / hotel transfers if inter-city transfers by train are included in the vacation price. In South America transfers are included on brochure dates and can be purchased for non-brochure dates. Transfers cannot be purchased in Hawaii and for On the Road driving vacations. In, Europe, a Monograms vacation including two or more cities does not include station/hotel transfers it inter-city transfers by train are included in the vacation price.Where do I stay on a Monograms vacation?We know that accommodations are of paramount importance to your vacation experience. Our carefully selected hotels have mastered the art of balancing the need for efficiency with the desire of each traveler to receive individual attention. Each Monograms vacation offers you a choice of hotel accommodations to fit your style and budget(Please check the itinerary for the exact hotels). In Europe, Asia, South Pacific and South America choose from the Premium and First-Class Hotel Packages while in North America choose from the Premium and Classic Hotel Packages.What meals are included on a Monograms Vacation?Begin your day with a hearty breakfast in Europe, Asia, South Pacific and South America, varying from Buffet, full Scottish, full English, full Irish to American spreads. Please check the itinerary for the type of breakfast included in your vacation. Only in North America, breakfast is not included. In general, lunches and dinners are not included in your Monograms vacations – except on some travel days in remote regions, on cruises and at some resorts. In Europe, Asia, South Pacific and South America, your Local Host will have a number of suggestions for favorite nearby restaurants – after all, one of the best ways to learn about a foreign culture is to eat like the locals do! In North America, ask the concierge at your hotel for suggestions.Can I add more nights to my vacation?If you require extra nights at the first and/or last vacation hotel, we will make reservations for you at the rates quoted in the price box featured in your itinerary, provided you request them at the time you book your vacation. Rates are per person, per night and include room with private bath, breakfast(excluding North America), service charge and taxes.Extra nights are only available immediately prior to or after your trip. Every effort will be made to reserve extra nights at the hotel where your trip starts, however; if space is unavailable, alternative accommodation will be reserved at a hotel of equivalent standard. In this case, transfers from and to the trip hotel is at our expense. As hotel space is limited we cannot reserve more than two nights before and/or after your vacation, unless they are needed to bridge the gap between two Monograms trips. During particularly busy periods, due to limited hotel space, we may be unable to sell extra nights. Does Monograms have an age limit for young travellers? Is airfare included in my Monograms vacation?The Monograms vacations in this brochure are land-only unless explicitly mentioned and do not include intra-city flights. Intra-city flights are included on select South America vacations. If you do wish to purchase intra-city flights, Globus may be able to arrange the same for you at an additional price. However; please check with your travel agent prior to booking your tour if this may be possible. These airfares are based on the best prices available at the time and are subject to any fare changes. The vacation price does not include government fees and taxes on the intra-tour flight as these are constantly fluctuating. Where a paper ticket needs to be issued for any sector, there may be an additional UPS express delivery fee of approximately US$60. South America Monograms vacations can also be purchased air-inclusive from a US Gateway(usually Miami / Atlanta). | |
